A waiver may be requested to allow a player that does not meet the residency requirement to play within the league.
Regulation II(d) and II(a) Waivers
This waiver allows a player who has previously qualified under residency for a league and played in the league to continue with the league if the player’s address or school location changed, the league’s boundary has changed, or the player is a sibling of a player who previously qualified for II(d).
Regulation IV(h) Waiver
If a person has previously resided within the league’s boundaries for two or more years while serving that league as a dedicated manager, coach, or member of the local league’s Board of Directors for two or more years, their children are eligible to play for that league provided that the person continues their volunteer role.
In both cases, a II(d) or IV(h) waiver form will need to be completed and then approved by the District Administrator. The completed form needs to be accompanied by proof of residency documents for the previous address that was within the league boundary.
Out of Boundary Waiver
For a player who does not meet the requirements for the above two waivers, a request to play in a specific league where they do not meet residency or school enrollment requirements can still be made. Only the Charter Committee in Williamsport, PA can grant these waivers and their decision is considered final. The process to apply for a boundary waiver is very involved and should be started as early as possible to ensure the player does not miss any part of the season.
1. The parent/guardian of the player should put their request in writing and send it to [email protected]. The reasons for wanting to play with Beech Grove Little League should be explained with as much information as possible to show that playing for the boundary league would create a hardship for the family.
2. The Board of Directors will approve or deny the request. If approved:
3. The President will send the waiver request to the District 7 Administrator.
4. The DA will verify documentation and send the request to the boundary league for approval or denial. If approved:
5. The DA will send the request to the Central Region who will verify all necessary documentation is complete.
6. Central Region will send the documentation to the Charter Committee.
7. The Charter Committee will review all statements and return their decision, which will be final.
